May 18–19, 2025 – Lake Blackshear, Georgia – Sam Moody of Albany, Georgia, delivered a strong two-day performance to win the American Fishing Tour (AFT) Division 74 District Championship on Lake Blackshear. Moody secured the top spot with a total weight of 25.67 pounds, highlighted by a 4.67-pound kicker on day one. His efforts earned him a first-place prize of $752.
Derreck Burnam of Byromville, Georgia, finished second with a two-day total of 23.23 pounds. Burnam, who brought in a solid 4.38-pound bass, not only earned $326 but was also crowned Division 74 Angler of the Year for the 2025 season.

George Haynie of Cordele, Georgia, secured third place with consistent five-fish limits on both days, finishing with 21.99 pounds. His bag included a 3.22-pound bass. In fourth was Lane Worsham of Tifton, Georgia, who weighed in 21.85 pounds over two days. Worsham landed the tournament’s Big Fish, a 5.07-pound bass caught on day one.
Rounding out the top five was Johnny Smith of Albany, Georgia, with a two-day total of 16.41 pounds, including a 4.64-pounder.

On day two, Henry Starks of Byron, Georgia, earned Big Fish Honors with a 4.75-pound bass.

The next tournament in Division 74 will kick off the 2026 season this fall on Lake Blackshear, launching from the Gum Creek Ramp.
