Ricky Ramirez Wins Division 36 Championship at Lake Winnipesaukee

Ortiz Claims Angler of the Year Title

Lake Winnipesaukee, NH – September 27–28, 2025 – Ricky Ramirez of Woonsocket secured the victory at the American Bass Anglers Division 36 Two-Day Championship, held on Lake Winnipesaukee. The two-day event brought together top regional anglers, each vying for cash prizes along with valuable divisional and national points.

Ramirez posted a two-day total of 28.90 pounds, earning the first-place prize of $956. After trailing by two pounds on Day 1, Ramirez staged an impressive comeback on Day 2, weighing in the tournament’s heaviest bag at 16.90 pounds to seal the win.

Just missing the top spot was Quincy Ortiz of Belchertown, who finished second with a two-day total of 28.88 pounds, good for $536. Ortiz also capped off a strong season by securing the Division Angler of the Year title.

In third, Mike Mercier of Rochdale brought in 26.92 pounds, earning $172 for his efforts.

The tournament also featured standout fish on both days:

Day 1 Big Bass: Shane Stout with a 5.40-lb largemouth, and Todd Rourke with a 3.57-lb smallmouth.

Day 2 Big Bass: Quincy Ortiz with a 4.92-lb largemouth, and Mike Mercier with a 3.75-lb smallmouth.
