New Florida Central Couples Division for 2025

Athens, AL. We are excited to announce the formation of the American Bass Anglers Couples Series Division 14, launching in Central Florida for the 2025 season! This new division will offer couples the opportunity to compete on some of Florida’s most famous fisheries, including the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, the Harris Chain, and Lake Okeechobee.

Meet the Directors

Cindy Joint is your new Tournament Director. Based in Harmony, Florida, Cindy is the Parts Manager at Amera Trail, where they build custom boat trailers. She’s been with the company for over two years, following a 30-year career in property management. In addition to her work at Amera Trail, Cindy is an active journalist for the Osceola News Gazette, where she runs a fishing column, “The Reel Deal with Cindy,” covering special events on her home lake, Lake Toho. With eight years of experience as the Tournament Director for a local team trail and running the popular Wednesday Night Derby at Kissimmee Lakefront, Cindy brings a wealth of knowledge, connections, and passion to this new role. She is thrilled to embark on this new journey with the Couples Series and looks forward to building lasting friendships on the water.

Co-Tournament Director Steve “Boogie” Brown also brings a rich history of competitive spirit and love for fishing. A fifth-generation Floridian, Steve has been an active tournament angler for over 25 years, with roots in speck (crappie) fishing on Lake Jessup. His competitive nature led him from BMX, snowboarding, and drag racing to bass fishing, where he continues to compete. Steve currently works for John Deere, selling heavy equipment while remaining deeply connected to the fishing community. He’s ready to help couples achieve their goals and make a splash at the National Championship.
