Kenneth Young Wins at Lake Blackshear

On March 9, 2024, Kenneth Young of Vienna, Georgia, won the American Fishing Tour Division 74 event held at Lake Blackshear in Cordele, Georgia. This competition, which forms a part of the esteemed American Fishing Tour, drew skilled anglers from the region, each vying for both monetary rewards and significant divisional and national recognition.

Despite challenging conditions characterized by muddy and low water levels, Young demonstrated his prowess by landing two fish prior to the weigh-in. His total catch of 15.29 pounds secured his position atop the leaderboard. Notably, his standout catch—an impressive 8.68-pound bass—earned him first place, along with the coveted Big Fish honors and a cash prize amounting to $236.

Following closely behind, George Haynie of Cordele, Georgia, clinched second place with a total weight of 13.55 pounds, highlighted by a notable 5.83-pound catch. Henry Starks from Byron, Georgia, showcased his angling skills to secure third place, boasting a total catch of 12.11 pounds, including a 5.85-pounder. Dwayne Smith from Americus, Georgia, claimed fourth place with an admirable haul of three fish, totaling 10.57 pounds, among which was a 4.81-pound catch.
