Joel Davis, 47, lives on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast with his wife, Laura, and their two daughters, Hayley and Lexy. Their beloved daughter Lilly, who now watches over them, remains a guiding light in their lives. Joel balances family life and his career as a Project Coordinator at a national engineering firm in Biloxi, all while pursuing his passion for fishing. With 22 years of marriage and a life rooted in faith, family, and the outdoors, Joel is a strong example of harmony between work, home, and the water.
Introduced to bass fishing in his teenage years by his older brother Dean, Joel quickly fell in love with the sport. Over time, he became not just a passionate angler but also a recognized voice in the fishing community, growing his social media presence and attracting ProStaff opportunities. His personal motto—“GetOut&Fish!”—reflects his drive to encourage others to embrace the outdoors and enjoy the simple joys of fishing.
Joel’s competitive journey began in his mid-30s alongside his friend and mentor, Mr. David Bobinger, a church member in his 70s. The pair spent nearly every Friday fishing together, a partnership that sparked Joel’s rise in tournament fishing. Since then, he’s won numerous club events, earned five Club Angler of the Year titles, secured several ABA victories, and served as both an ABA Director and ABA ProStaff Manager. With his sights now set on the BASS Opens, Joel continues to raise the bar in his angling career.
On the water, Joel is all about patience, instinct, and adaptability. While he loves the thrill of a topwater bite, he’s also skilled with jigs, swimming crankbaits, and his go-to 11″ Netbait C-Monster. For Joel, fishing is more than a sport—it’s about reading the water, respecting nature, and always chasing that next big bite.
