Zachary Green, 40, lives in Elberton, Georgia, with his wife Whitney and their two daughters, Rylee and Zoey. Originally from Neosho, Missouri, he spent most of his life in Soperton, GA, growing up around farming. Zachary pursued studies in Biology and Chemistry before earning a degree in Wildlife Sciences. His professional journey has taken him through retail, construction, law enforcement, and commercial driving. Today, he manages a ready-mix concrete production facility in Athens, GA.
Fishing has been Zachary’s lifelong passion. Starting with bream and catfish, his brother introduced him to bass fishing with artificial lures during his teenage years. That spark became a full-blown passion, leading him to buy his first bass boat and compete in local tournaments. In 2016, Zachary joined American Bass Anglers and has since earned multiple regional wins, numerous big fish awards, and strong finishes at the ABA National Championships on Hartwell and Kerr lakes.
For Zachary, bass fishing is more than a competition—it’s a way to unwind and stay grounded. Even with a demanding work and family schedule, he finds balance and excitement on the water. He enjoys targeting offshore fish with a focus on cover over structure. His go-to technique is fishing a football jig and trailer, though he also likes weightless and topwater presentations when conditions allow. In spring, he avoids bed fishing out of respect for the natural spawning cycle, even if it costs him a higher tournament finish.
Zachary is proud to represent the American Bass Anglers WattCycle Pro Staff and looks forward to continuing his journey in the sport he loves. He is always eager for the next challenge and the next big bite.
