June 21, 2025 – Seneca, IL – Andy Blunier of Roanoke, Illinois, claimed victory at the American Fishing Tour Division 39 tournament, presented by American Bass Anglers, on the Morris Pool of the Illinois River. Launching from the Seneca ramp, Blunier brought in a 3-fish smallmouth limit weighing 5.88 pounds to secure first place and a $337 payday.
Competitors battled extreme summer conditions, with the first official day of summer delivering a heat index of 104 degrees and heavy recreational boat traffic. Earlier rainfall in the week resulted in strong current, and muddy water, creating a challenging environment as the day progressed. Despite the tough conditions, early morning fishing produced solid results.
Cory Flynn of Dixon, IL, earned second place with a 3-fish limit totaling 4.60 pounds. Flynn also landed the event’s Big Bass, a 2.73-pound smallmouth, bringing his total winnings to $203.
Rounding out the top three was Dave Blume of Bloomington, IL, with a 3-fish limit weighing 4.59 pounds.

Participants in each event earn points toward the divisional Angler of the Year title. Each division champion qualifies for the prestigious American Fishing Tour Angler of the Year Final Round, held in conjunction with the AFT National Championship. Additionally, the top 500 anglers nationwide will be invited to compete in the three-day ABA AFT National Championship tournament.
