Empowering Bass Anglers

Empowering Anglers to Fish Like Professionals and Chart Their Own Destiny

November 30, 2023, Athens, AL – American Bass Anglers introduced a groundbreaking initiative that will change how weekend anglers experience bass fishing. The ABA Professional League, set to launch in 2024, aims to inspire anglers to rely on their own skills, instincts, and abilities to achieve success on the water.

For years, weekend anglers have dreamed of competing at a professional level, and the ABA Professional League makes that dream a reality. What sets this league apart is its unique solo competition format. Weekend anglers will have the opportunity to fish solo in a National Series for the first time. This revolutionary concept allows them to take full control of their destiny as anglers.

The ABA Professional League consists of 16 divisions, each hosting three one-day Divisional qualifying tournaments and one two-day Divisional Championship. The series offers an unparalleled payout structure, with 80% of the entry fees going towards the prize pool. This means that anglers will no longer have to settle for payouts below 70% as seen in single-day events.

The top award for a one-day divisional event is an impressive $10,000 with a full field, and Caymas Owners can earn an additional $7,000 through the Caymas Cash program, making a total of $17,000 possible in a one-day event.

One of the league’s standout features is the points system that determines standings. Anglers accumulate points based on their performance in each event. The system combines the best three one-day events and the best two-day event, allowing anglers to fish in any division to establish their national standings. It also combines events within a division to establish divisional standings. These standings play a significant role in determining invitations to the 2025 Championship.

Moreover, the ABA Professional League offers anglers remarkable flexibility. If they encounter a low-scoring tournament, they can choose to fish in one-day or two-day events from different divisions to boost their total National points and influence their national standing within the series.

Professional League FAQs

Divisional points become crucial heading into the 2025 Championship, where each Division’s Angler of the Year will compete head-to-head for the coveted title of Angler of the Year, with the highest-finishing AOY at the Championship earning a cash award.

Integrity and fair play are paramount in the ABA Professional League, and the league will implement truth verification measures at events to ensure a level playing field for all participants.

Registration for the 2024 Professional League is now open, and the schedule includes tournaments in various divisions across the country. Anglers can find more information, including rules and sample payouts, on the American Bass Anglers website.

The Championship, set for spring 2025 at a yet-to-be-announced location, promises to be an event like no other.
