Rob Eckle, 59, resides in Wichita Falls, Texas. A proud father of two grown children—Carissa (25) of Austin, TX, and Robby (21) currently stationed in Misawa, Japan—Rob is a 20-year U.S. Air Force veteran who continues to serve as a Defense Contractor and T-6 Branch Manager, supporting aircraft maintenance at Sheppard AFB. Outside of work, Rob enjoys hunting guide work, riding dirt bikes, organizing fundraiser tournaments for a local homeless shelter and recovery center, and, of course, time on the water.
Rob’s love for fishing began in the creeks and ponds of Arkansas, where he grew up. His interest in bass fishing took off during his time stationed at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas, where he fished the legendary waters of Lake Amistad. A later tour in Alaska helped expand his fishing skills to include a wide range of techniques. Rob began tournament fishing while stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina, and in 2005, he became the director of ABA Division 112 in Wichita Falls—a role he’s proudly held ever since.

With multiple tournament wins, big bass honors, two Division Angler of the Year titles, strong finishes at ABA National Championships, and a Top 5 finish as part of the Air Force Service Team, Rob has built an impressive tournament résumé. His preferred techniques are Texas rigging and flipping a jig into cover, but he’s always ready to adjust his strategy to meet the challenge of the day. His experience spans coast to coast—from the waters of Alaska and California to North Carolina and everything in between—shaped by years of competition in ABA national events.
Rob’s long-standing dedication to the sport has earned him sponsorships from trusted brands like Lucky Craft, Pride Rods, Evolve Rod Sleeves, and DABA Lures, among others. He continues to share his passion for fishing, leadership, and giving back to the community both on and off the water.
